The main scientific directions:
- Basic research on ground water genesis, existence, exploitation and protection in different geological-tectonic regions including the Eastern extremity of the West-European (Russian) platform
- Hydrogeochemistry and hydrogeodynamics of:
- potable ground water
- technical ground water
- geothermal water
- mineral water
- industrial ground water (containing He, Li, I, Br etc)
- Hydrogeological modeling of ground water flow and chemical composition
- Interrelation of groundwater with balance elements of water systems, e.g. atmospheric precipitations and surface water
- Importance of ground water to geotechnical, geodynamical processes, seismic zoning and mineral deposits extraction
- Hydrochemistry, terrestrial hydrology and water resources
